Working on new series of "Escapes" for Arkandor Foundation in Nova Scotia, Canada

RENOVA STUDIOS ( formerly Renova Art Gallery) specializes in fine art, architectural design and restoration. The owners and business partners Vitek J.P.Kruta and Lucie M. H. Kruta are both natives of Czech Republic. They received their formal training in Europe.

Vitek graduated from the School of Decorative Arts in Prague, with a degree in mural painting, set design, and architectural design. He also holds a degree in sculptural and decorative design from the School of Ceramic Arts in Prague.

Lucie graduated from the School of Graphic Arts in Prague, with a degree in graphic design, and from the Institute for Foreign Languages in Erlangen, Germany. She also studied Graphic Design and Photography at Northwestern Connecticut Community College in Winsted, CT.

Before coming to the USA in 1991, they had spent almost ten years in Germany and France studying and working. While Lucie attended school, Vitek was fortunate to have trained under German Master craftsmen on structures that date back to the year 900. As a member of the team that worked on restorations in Europe he gained immense knowledge and much experience. The projects included restorations of castles, churches and historical monuments in  towns and cities such as Nurnberg, Rothenburg, Dinkelsbuhl, Eichstatt, Regensburg, Bamberg and Wurzburg.

Founded in 1991, RENOVA STUDIOS originally started out as an art gallery and restoration studio. Later, besides fine arts commissions and restoration work, we have undertaken larger mural projects and we have also added architectural design and set design as a substantial part of our business.

The latest development in our work is a series of paintings, named "ESCAPES". These original three-dimensional paintings are a combination of fine art, trompe l`oeil and various decorative and finishing techniques on a smaller scale using architectural elements, gold leaf, patina and faux finishes such as marbling, graining, and antiquing.
